Frequently asked question

How Do I order a cake?

To order a cake you can either fill in the enquiry form on my contact page, email me the details of your cake at deborahfeltham@gmail.com along with a photo of a cake you like or phone me direct during business hours on 0407 830 704. I will need to know the date you require your cake, the number of serves and whether they are coffee/finger portions or dessert portions, the cake design you had in mind, the flavour you prefer, and any special Birthday message or toppers you require. Once we have finalized exactly what cake you want and you are happy with the price quoted I require a deposit made payable via direct deposit into my account which secures your booking. The balance of your cake is then payable on collection of your cake or prior to delivery. I usually require a least 2 weeks notice for cake orders so the sooner you place your order the better. However if you require your cake in less than two weeks please phone me as I .have availability.

Can I have another cake that is not on your website?

Yes you can, just simply fill in my enquiry form on the contact page and attach the photo of the cake design you would like.

How much does a cake cost?

The final price of a custom cake is determined by the flavour of the cake, the number of serves your cake will cater for, whether those serves are coffee/finger sized portions (which are 1″ x 1″ x 4″) or Dessert sized portions (which are 2″ x1″ x 4″), the type of cake (3D, 2D, shaped, tiered or mini), the amount of detailed work involved and the number of hours that are involved in creating your cake.

Do you deliver or can I pick up my cake?

Most customers collect their cakes themselves during the week between 9.30 am and 6 pm or on Saturdays between 9.30 am and 1 pm. I can arrange to deliver your cake however there is a delivery fee based on your location. Wedding cakes that are more than 2 tieres do usually require delivery and on site assembly. Please contact me with your delivery address for a quote.

How do I transport my cake?

When transporting your cake in your car it is very important to keep it level at all times. Placing the cake on the floor of the front passengers side is good or better still if you have a passenger who can hold the cake and keep it level as you drive. Please drive carefully as once the cake leaves my premises it is your responsibility.

How do I store my cake?

Your cake will be presented in a cake box for transportation and storage. Once you have arrived at your venue please store you cake in a cool dry area away from direct sunlight (preferably in air conditioning). Most fondant covered cakes are not suitable for storing in the fridge due to the condensation.

What happens if I cancel my cake order?

Once you have placed a cake order and paid your deposit and wish to cancel your order I will require you to inform me via email or text 10 days prior to the date of collection of your cake to receive a full refund of your deposit. If your cancellation is less than 10 days prior to collecting your cake your deposit is nonrefundable.
I can also offer you the option of keeping your deposit and rescheduling your cake to a future date.
