So it is that time of the year again when kids start buying or making creepy costumes to wear and go from door-to-door chanting ‘trick or treat’. Yes, around one more week needs to pass and then we will be celebrating the festival of Halloween with spooky decorations, scary music and grotesque-looking treats. Speaking of grotesque-looking treats, I have got some really off-the-hook and delicious Halloween-themed cupcake ideas for you all. They caught my attention when I was going through some baking-related stuff over Google last week. I hope you will enjoy these spooky and scrumptious delicacies:
As their name suggests, these lovely little chocolate cupcakes feature a marshmallow topping each. And it is the marshmallows that are the centres of attraction. They are decorated to represent the heads of vampires, ghosts, Frankenstein monster, werewolves and what not!
Cute Ghost Cupcakes
These mini confections also feature chocolate cupcakes as their base. But their tops are piped with cream cheese icing to look like the face of the ghost you get to see in ‘Ghostbusters’ logo. Chocolate-coated pomegranates form the eyes and mouth of the creamy phantoms.
The base of tasty eyeballs can be of anything that you like, vanilla, red velvet, strawberry or even pumpkin. Their decoration is the most important part - vanilla cream icing, with veins created with red coloured frosting spreading out from the centre and a round-shaped gummy placed right in the middle to form the iris.
They are very simple to look at, but can definitely help to establish a spooky atmosphere at the lunch or dinner table. At first, chocolate or vanilla cupcakes are topped with a thick layer of red, green or orange coloured frosting. After that, a chocolate cookie is placed in the middle of each, on top of which a circular frosting ring is created. Finally, the spooky look of the confections is completed with a brown inverted ice-cream cone.
Undead Rising From Their Graves
Where’s the fun in celebrating Halloween without zombies? These delicious chocolate cupcakes topped with cookie crumble dirt and epitaphs can seem pretty scary to kids when the lights are dim. This is because each of them features a green blood smeared fondant emerging hand, giving the impression of zombies rising from the grave.
I am afraid that we have reached the end of the blog. So until I’m back again with another intriguing post, stay blessed and have fun. And celebrate a spooky and safe Halloween!
