Last month saw the launch of the brand new Game of Thrones season and many of you might have already got glued to your Netflix and TV sets so as not to miss even a second of the internationally popular show. And while you guys were busy catching up with the pilot episodes of the show, guess what I found - a wonderful recipe for GoT themed cupcakes. So if you are a die-hard GoT fan, why not prepare and enjoy these delicacies as the White Walkers try to strike the Wall:
1. 1 cup of sugar
2. 1 tbsp. of vanilla sugar
3. 2 tsp. of baking powder
4. ¾ cup of flour
5. 3 tbsp. of cocoa powder
6. ⅓ cup of cornstarch
7. A jar of sour cherries
8. 5 eggs
10. Chocolate flakes
Pre-heat your oven to 190°C and place muffin liners in the cupcake pan. After that, beat the eggs in a bowl for a minute until they become fluffy and light. Now add the sugar as well as vanilla sugar in it and beat for another 2 minutes.
In a different bowl, mix the cocoa powder, cornstarch and flour. Fold them gently under the sugar and egg mixture, but do not beat the concoction. Pour out the batter evenly in the muffin cups and place the pan inside the oven. Bake for around 15 minutes.
Once the cupcakes have cooled down, make a hole in the centre of each and fill it using the sour cherries. Next, pour some rum into each of the holes. Now pipe the top of the cupcakes with stiff peaks of cream and sprinkle chocolate flakes onto them.
GoT Flag Toppers
First, get a printout of the GoT heraldry given on the left hand side and keep things like bamboo skewers, thread, toothpicks, scissors and craft glue ready at hand.
Carefully cut out the flags one by one from the printout. Take one flag, apply some glue on one side of its rear part and lay a toothpick vertically in the middle. Now fold the banner over the toothpick, pressing the 2 halves together while making sure that the toothpick ends stick out. Now cut out a 2½ inch segment of the thread and glue it to the exposed ends. Attach a skewer at the back of the banner vertically in a way that it holds up the string to form a triangle. In this way, prepare the other banners as well. Stick one into each of the cupcakes and voila, your GoT themed delicacies are ready to feast on.
